RAM 1500 DS

Lovells Automotive Systems released GVM upgrades for the DS 1500 RAM in mid 2022. When carrying heavy loads the RAM suffers from a lack of payload capacity potentially forcing the decision between towing and carrying passengers. A lovells GVM Upgrade is the answer! With 500Kg of additional capacity the RAM can become far more capable and useful as a tough work ute or tourer. 

The Lovells GVM upgrade kits includes all the components required for the conversion. There are two kits available – Gas Legend Kit with twin tube gas shock absorbers, or the Platinum Kit with adjustable mono-tube gas shock absorbers (refer to the GVM kit image and kit contents for more information). The materials for each kit are sourced from the best materials made in Australia and Overseas. Including steel for the spring’s sourced from Whyalla, South Australia.

A special requirement when upgrading the DS RAM is to upgrade the wheels. Unfortunately the RAM's wheels are not marked with load ratings and therefore engineers are unable to guarantee that the stock wheels are suitable for increased axle loads at higher GVMs. In order to allow compliance the owner must supply new wheels with load ratings at least equal to 1100Kg (per wheel) and tyres rated 114 and above.
